Nine new perfumes came off the bench this week. Every one was built in our Sydney studio from individual raw materials at 30% extrait concentration, never a ready-made oil. The easiest one to love goes first: Erba Pura, Sicilian lemon and passionfruit over a creamy amber base, loud enough to fill a room and sweet enough that almost nobody dislikes it.
The other eight split neatly by character. Three bright ones built on proper woody bases, so the citrus is still there after the first hour. Two sweet ones for cold weather, cognac and candyfloss on one, pear and almond on the other. And three darker ones in leather, tobacco and sandalwood, the heaviest of the nine.
Two houses appear for the first time: Roja Parfums, with Elysium Parfum Cologne, and Ormonde Jayne, with Montabaco Intensivo.
Loud enough to fill a room, sweet enough that almost nobody dislikes it.
